Gerontology  Program Description

Hood College is requesting endorsement for a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program in Gerontology. The twelve credit certificate program is for students interested in developing expertise in aging. The certificate’s goals are: (1) To acquaint students with the fundamental issues of aging and the challenges the aged encounter;(2) To immerse students in the scholarship concerning the biological, psychological, and social aspects of aging; (3) To expose students to the career paths available to those with expertise in gerontology and;(4) To assist students in developing professional competencies in working with older adults.
